Ravi Shastri could continue as Team Director until 2016 World T20: Reports

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) could further extend Ravi Shastri's contract as Team India director until the World T20.

As per a report in the Time of India, BCCI after consultation with the newly formed cricket advisory committee, could take this decision.

As Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman meet with BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya and secretary Anurag Thakur in Kolkata on Saturday, finding a replacement for Duncan Fletcher tops the priorities of the Indian board.

"This has become a political game. A preview is a must before the board gets down to the official procedure," a top BCCI official was quoted as saying in the report.

The Virat Kohli-led Indian team on Friday arrived in batches at the city ahead of their two day training camp at the Eden Gardens.

The team will set out for Bangladesh on Monday morning after their fitness test here which is scheduled for Saturday evening.

First to land in the city was skipper Kohli followed by team director Ravi Shastri. Middle order bat Cheteshwar Pujara, Ishant Sharma, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, Murali Vijay, Karn Sharma and Lokesh Rahul were the next players to arrive at the airport. Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav and veteran offie Harbhajan Singh are yet to fly in.

After Sunday's practice session, Kohli is slated to address the media in the evening.

The Indians are slated to play a Test match followed by three One-Day Internationals during the trip that ends with an ODI on June 24.
