London, May 26: English rock band Oasis have taken over the list of the best British songs of all time by claiming the top three positions in the poll.The number one song came out to be ‘Live Forever’, while ‘Wonderwall’ and ‘Don`t Look Back In Anger’ grabbed the second and third spot.
Another Oasis song ‘Champagne Supernova’ also made it to the list at number 10.
Several thousand of Xfm listeners voted in the poll.
"Oasis undoubtedly has one of the most significant catalogues of all time,” The Telegraph quoted Paul Jackson, group programming director for The Xfm Network as saying.
Apart from Oasis, the survey was dominated by the North of England, with the Stone Roses, The Verve, Joy Division and the Arctic Monkeys riding high.
