Los Angeles: Taylor Swift reached a new peak on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart Thursday, while the Black Eyed Peas held on to the top spot, becoming the third act in the chart`s history to spend 16 straight weeks at No 1.
Moving up three rungs, `You Belong With Me` scored the No 3 spot for Swift, who made it to No 4 with `Love Story` in January.
Katy Perry got back into the top 10 with 'Waking Up in Vegas,' which made its third trip into the top 10. Demi Lovato`s 'Here We Go Again' rocketed from No 66 to No 24 with 88,000 downloads the week before the release of her sophomore album, expected to debut at or near the top of the Billboard 200.
Shakira`s 'She Wolf' debuted at No 34 on the chart, marking her highest debut. The song moved 48,000 digital downloads last week and soared from the 17 th rung to No 6 on Hot Latin Songs, where it is known as "Loba."
At the top of the chart, the Peas` "I Gotta Feeling" was followed once again by Drake at No 2 with 'Best I Ever Had,' and Keri Hilson stayed at No 4 with 'Knock You Down' featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo. Sean Kingston`s 'Fire Burning' remained at No 5, the Peas` 'Boom Boom Pow' dropped three slots to No 6, Lady Gaga`s 'Lovegame' stayed at No 7, and Pitbull`s "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" held at No 8 Jeremih`s 'Birthday Sex' remained at No 9 for the week.
Two acts, Jason Mraz and OneRepublic, scored gains on the Hot 100 with new versions of older songs. Mraz`s 'I`m Yours' rose from No 32 to No 29 with a new, reggae-tinged mix that`s getting renewed airplay.
OneRepublic`s 'Come Home,' originally from the band`s 2007 album 'Dreaming Out Loud,' debuted at No 80 thanks to new featured vocals by Sara Bareilles.
