This win at Colombo's P Sara Oval is quite special for the visitors in more ways than one.

1) This is the maiden Test win for young skipper Virat Kohli, who took over the reins from MS Dhoni. 

2) Today, 44 years ago, India won it's first-ever series win in England under the captaincy of Ajit Wadekar at the Oval.

3) This Test match will be remembered as legendary Kumar Sangakkara's last Test.

4) The 278-run victory is India's 4th biggest in terms of runs and the 2nd biggest away from home.

5) Ravichandran Ashwin now has 45 wickets - the most by any tweaker in the last 100 years of Test cricket while opening the bowling.
