NewDelhi: Immediately after Kumar Sangakkara's farewell Test innings came to an end on Sunday, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar welcomed the southpaw on the club of the retired cricketers.
Tendulkar took to micro blogging site, Twitter, to congratulate the Sri Lankan great by tagging him as a terrific ambassador for the game and welcomed him to the club of the retired.
Well played @KumarSanga2. You have been a terrific ambassador for the game & a thorough gentleman. Warm welcome to the club of the Retired!

However, Sanga failed to impress in his final Test innings as he got out after scoring mere 18 runs in the 2nd innings of 2nd Test against India.
It's once again India's premier spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, who spoiled Sanga's farewell party in Colombo.
In fact, in Sanga's last four innings, Ashwin was the one who got the better of the retiring great on each occasion.
From spectators to players to umpires, everyone gave Sanga a warm send off as the 37-year-old walked back towards the pavilion. The legendary cricketer holded his arms aloft and headed towards the pavilion for the last time.
Here are few other tweets that poured in after the Lankan came back to the pavilion.
It wasn't to be in this match but what he was for SL cricket is some thing that you can't take away. Very proud of you mate. @KumarSanga2
