Lifetime Achievement Award for Habib Tanvir

Delhi will confer Lifetime Achievement Award upon late Habib Tanvir.

New Delhi: The Delhi government Monday announced that it would confer Lifetime Achievement Awards upon classical singer Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and late theatre personality Habib Tanvir. The decision was taken during a Delhi cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

"The department of art and culture through the Sahitya Kala Parishad would confer the Lifetime Achievement Award upon Joshi and Tanvir for their contributions to the field of art and culture," Dikshit told reporters. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.1.1 million and a citation. IANS
