Shane Watson produced a solid all-round performance as Australia launched their campaign in the ICC World Twenty20 with a seven-wicket thrashing of Ireland here on Wednesday.

Here is how the game panned out...

Over 15.1: AUS 125/3 Cameron White 22(19) - George Bailey 6(8) AUSTRALIA WIN BY & WICKETS WITH 29 BALLS REMAINING!!! Cameroon White hit the winning runs in the form of a boundary to seal the match in Australia’s favour.

Over 11: AUS 95/3 Mike Hussey 2(3) - Shane Watson 29 (22) OUT!!! Mike Hussey perished in the lat ball of the over LBW to Kevin O’ Brian.

Over 4: AUS 40/0 David Warner* 11 (12) - Shane Watson 24 (12) 19 runs off the Trent Johnston over as Watson hammered the veteran for two FOURS and a SIX after Warner had earned himself a boundary off a powerful drive in the first over.

Over 1: AUS 6/0 Chasing a modest total of 123, David Warner and Shane Watson scored 6 runs in the first over. David Warner got a four courtesy a pull.

Over 20: IRE 123/7 Ireland set Australia a target of 124 runs to win the second match of the ongoing Twenty20 World Cup at Colombo on Wednesday.
