Mickey Rourke rules out sequel to `The Wrestler`

His Oscar nominated role in `The Wrestler` may have brought Mickey Rourke`s career back on track but actor is not keen to reprise his part in a sequel.

London: His Oscar nominated role in `The Wrestler` may have brought Mickey Rourke`s career back on track but actor is not keen to reprise his part in a sequel. The 55-year-old Golden Globe award winning actor who played the role of a washed out wrestler `Randy `The Ram` Robinson, believes that he is too old for the grueling character, Dailymail online reported.
"I`m not 20 years old any more and when they throw your ass down, something is gonna hurt. My back would go out, my knee would go out. I had three MRI scans in the first two months. If they would say they want to make Part 2, I would say, `No, thank you`," Rourke said. The film reflects the real life story of the actor who quit acting to pursue professional wrestling but went into oblivion for almost two decades only to resurface with Darren Aronofsky`s film last year. And he admitted his wild partying was his own fault. "I did not behave properly, like a professional, I wasn`t real responsible. I paid the price for it. Those years were hard. It`s better to never work than to have worked and become a has been. I have been a has-been for 12, 13 years. You feel terrible about yourself, you are not in control any more," the actor said.
