New Delhi: Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli has been rested for next month's Bangladesh tour scheduled to start from June 10, according to sources.

If reports are to be believed then in the absence of regular Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma will play the role of stand-in skipper in an one-off Test match.

Earlier there was news in the media that Kohli had put in a word to BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur about skipping the Bangladesh tour and taking a break after a long and tiring cricket season.

India are slated to play one-off Test followed by three ODIs in Mirpur on 18, 21 and 24.

This is their first international outing since the ICC World Cup 2015.

BCCI will announce the Test and one-day team for Bangladesh tour on Wednesday after the selection committee meeting in Mumbai.
