Virat Kohli thinks it is 'humanly impossible' to match Sachin Tendulkar – Here's why!

New Delhi: Considering the enormous success he has achieved his career so far, cricket pundits cannot help but compare Virat Kohli with Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar.

The flamboyant Delhi right-hander, who has 25 ODI centuries to his name, said that no player should be compared with the Master Blaster as nobody can inspire youngsters to play cricket the way he did.

"We have grown up watching him. I don't see why people compare me with him because the way he played his cricket, and the way he inspired people, I don't think anyone has been able to inspire people like that. Where he is, I think all the comparisons should start leaving him side. Even if people want to compare, I think he should be left apart and it should start from under him and not compare him with anyone else. That's the kind of impact he has had on my cricket," Kohli said in a video posted by ICC on Twitter.

Kohli has been in sensational form since the beginning of this year where he scaled new heights in all the tournaments he played.

The 25-year-old further added that it is also humanly impossible to match up to Tendulkar's records as he started playing international cricket at the age of 16.

"He has literally motivated all of us to play cricket. I don't intend to match up to the numbers that he has produced for India because it humanly impossible that you be able to play for that long period, because he started at 16 firstly, and then to be so consistent, you cannot guarantee that. That's one in a lifetime legacy that you see in cricket. We should respect that and not get carried away with comparisons," said the Indian Test captain.
