Trent Bridge: After being reduced to 136/6 at one point, West Indies recovered to post 304 at the end of Day 1 of the second Test against England at Trent Bridge on Friday. Marlon Samules (107*) struck a century and found support from his captain Darren Sammy (88*). For England James Anderson and Stuart Broad took two wickets apiece. Earlier, West Indies captain Darren Sammy won the toss and elected to bat first and the team looked certain to be bundled out for a cheap total after losing Shivnarine Chanderpaul who made 46. The collapse was arrested after Samuels and Sammy joined hand to struck an unbeaten partnership of 168 runs for the second wicket.
