Won’t take any legal action against BCCI: Azhar after HC relief

Hyderabad: Mohammad Azharuddin, who got a huge relief after Andhra High Court termed the life ban imposed on him twelve years back illegal on Thursday, said that he was extremely happy after the court’s order. He also thanked his fans, well-wishers and family members for standing behind him in his tough times. He also said that he would not take any legal action against anybody, including the BCCI which imposed life ban on him in 2000 for his alleged role in match-fixing. Quashing any chance of playing for the country again, he said that he did not think he would ever play for the country. He also did not give himself any chance of playing in the IPL. Asked about his 99 Tests he said that it was his fate that he could not play 100 Tests for the country. “It will be a record for me”, a visibly relieved Azhar said in a lighter vein. He, however, did not rule out joining cricket administration, saying that, though he had not decided anything yet, he would be interested in serving for the development of cricket in the country. “That’s my forte. That’s what I have been trained from childhood”, the former skipper added.
