The committee will reportedly take charge from April 1, with Rashid Latif as the chairman of the new national selection committee. According to The Nation, a source said that Latif had recommended the name of Yousuf to work with him in the new committee as a national selector and also agreed to the nomination of former Test batsman Haroon Rasheed as a co-opted member. The source also said that Latif had agreed to the nomination of Rasheed, who has remained a selector, head coach and manager of the national junior and senior teams in the past, because he brings a lot of experience with him. The source said that Latif, who is also a former captain, has also recommended the names of batsman, Wajahatullah Wasti from Peshawar and pace bowler, Shabbir Ahmed to work with him in the selection committee, the report added.
