London: Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has outscored previous records becoming the club`s all-time leading goal-scorer with his two goal performance during the 2-1 win at Aston Villa and has also revealed his desire to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard has broken former Chelsea footballer Bobby Tambling`s record in goal scoring, ahead of the Europa League final, the Guardian reports. Stating that winning the game at Villa Park has been an emotional moment for him, Lampard hoped that the end of the season decision marks his continuance at the club, thanking his team-mates and fans for supporting him although, even though he never imagined to secure 50 goals. According to the report, while Lampard still awaits his extension for the next season at the club, Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez has expressed his concerns on whether or not injured skipper John Terry (ankle) and winger Eden Hazard (hamstring) will be able to perform at the finals. Lampard`s goals have taken the score tally to 203 goals, which he dedicated to his late mother, the report added. ANI
