AS Monaco may land Mourinho as world`s `highest-paid` football manager

Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho has reportedly received an offer from mega-rich French club Monaco which will make him the highest-paid football manager in the world.

London: Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho has reportedly received an offer from mega-rich French club Monaco which will make him the highest-paid football manager in the world.
Monaco`s billionaire Russian owner Dmitry Rybolovlev is determined to turn the rebuilding French club into a major force in European football, for which he is set to `gazump` his countryman and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. The report further stated that fueled by the desire to woo Mourinho, Rybolovlev`s Monaco Sport Invest firm, led by top agent Jorge Mendes had given an impressive presentation to the advisors of Mourinho, who is demanding of 12 million pounds-a-year to go back to Chelsea. Monaco, who have previously targeted Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini, have also promised the Portuguese unlimited funds to build up the club again after the humiliation of relegation. However, it is believed Mourinho is driven by the chance of success as well as wealth, and that therefore Chelsea and wealthy French club Paris Saint Germain are still in the driving seat for him. Mourinho, who has two years of a 10m pounds-a-season contract still to run, has fallen out with high-profile Real stars including Spain captain Iker Casillas, and is still likely to leave in the summer despite the club reaching the Champions League semi -finals.
