Chelsea`s Oscar keen for Corinthians showdown

Chelsea`s Brazilian international midfielder Oscar will have extra motivation to win December`s FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.

Rio de Janeiro: Chelsea`s Brazilian international midfielder Oscar will have extra motivation to win December`s FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.
The 21-year-old says he is looking forward to confronting Brazil`s Corinthians, a club he loathed as a child and the favourite to face Chelsea in the final, as reported by an agency. "When I was young I was a Sao Paulo fan so there is that rivalry," Oscar told TV Globo Friday. "It would be fantastic to play against a Brazilian team and even more so against Corinthians, one of the best in the country." The tournament, contested annually by the champions of each of FIFA`s continental confederations, will be played from Dec 6 to 16. It will be the second time Oscar has played in the Club World Cup, having taken part in the 2010 tournament for Internacional. Oscar said he was still adapting to English football after his summer move to Chelsea for a reported 25 million pounds. He admitted his stunning second goal in Chelsea`s 2-2 Champions League draw against Juventus earlier this month had been due in part to good fortune. Oscar gave himself space with a delicate - though not entirely intentional - first touch before curling an unstoppable shot past Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. "Sometimes the best goals are the result of a bit of luck," Oscar said. PTI
