`Controversy king` Diego Maradona slaps journalist

New Delhi: Legendary footballer, Diego Maradona, slapped a journalist on Saturday while leaving a theatre along with mother of his child, Veronica Ojeda, and their son Diego Fernando, in his homeland. According to the media reports, a journalist winked at his ex-partner Ojeda, after which the 53-year old called the man an "idiot" before slapping him in the face. The family had been celebrating Children`s Day at an event in Buenos Aires. The incident made headlines in the capital after the slapping incident was captured on camera. It`s not the first time Maradona grabbed the headlines for the wrong reasons. In the past he used his `other hand` to score a goal, which helped his country to knock England out in the 1986 World Cup. In 1994 he failed a drug test and was sent home from the World Cup in USA. Four years later he was given a suspended sentence for shooting journalists with an air rifle. After the slapping incident, the journalists will try to maintain some distance from the former Argentine footballer.
