Denmark`s Bendtner hit with UEFA charge

Denmark striker Niklas Bendtner is to face a UEFA disciplinary hearing after he displayed the name of a betting company on his underpants in a Euro 2012 game.

Lviv (Ukraine): Denmark striker Niklas Bendtner is to face a UEFA disciplinary hearing after he displayed the name of a betting company on his underpants in a Euro 2012 game.
Bendtner pulled down his shorts to reveal underpants with the name of Paddy Power, an Irish gambling firm, after scoring for Denmark in their 2-3 defeat to Portugal Wednesday. The Arsenal forward, who was on loan to Sunderland last season, faces a charge of "improper conduct", UEFA said in a website statement. The alleged offence relates to law four of the Laws of the Game, which covers players` clothing. An amendment to the law specifically bans players revealing "undergarments showing slogans or advertising". Bendtner`s case will be heard Monday, UEFA said. IANS
