EPL: Ruud van Nistelrooy congratulates Jamie Vardy for breaking his record

Vardy has scored 14 EPL goals in this season.

New Delhi: Former Manchester United forward Ruud van Nistelrooy congratulated Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy for breaking his record on Saturday in the Premier League.

Ruud van Nistelrooy who had the record for scoring in 10 consecutive Premier League games, saw his record broken by Vardy who scored against Manchester United.

Interestingly Nistelrooy played for United when he created the record and it was against his old team that Vardy broke the feat.

Nistelrooy had achieved his record in 2003-04 season and it took 12 years to break that milestone.

Vardy has 14 goals so far, and is the leading scorer in the English top flight. Leicester were held by United 1-1 at home and stay at second place in the EPL table.
