New Delhi: Ahead of Manchester City's vital away tie against Borussia Mönchengladbach in Germany, manager Manuel Pellegrini found himself in a big rush after bringing the wrong passport to the airport on Tuesday.

According to a report in the Guardian, the former Real Madrid manager arrived at Manchester airport’s terminal three on the team bus but had to make a quick U-turn after realising he brought the wrong passport.

Further reports claim that he was pictured getting into a taxi and returned to his home in Cheshire to get hold of the right passport. Pellegrini had to rush back and made the flight to Dusseldorf only 10 minutes before its departure.

“I just have two passports and I brought the wrong one,” Pellegrini explained the Guardian when he was asked about the incident.

City need a victory to kickstart their campaign after losing their opening fixture to Juventus at home. Pellegrini will hope he doesn't get into trouble in Germany on the pitch and will want a result especially after the problems encountered with his wrong passport.
