Midfield maestro Bastian Schweinsteiger on his way to Manchester United?

New Delhi: Manchester United have sealed the deal for Bastian Schweinsteiger according to a report in the Guardian.

Bayern Munich's midfield maestro has been offered three-year contract worth £140,000 a week, for a fee believed to be in the region of £15m.

The 30-year-old has one year remaining on this current contract with the German champions.

United manager Louis van Gaal and Schweinsteiger have worked together before when the Dutchman was in-charge of the Bavarians between 2009 and 2011.

The report further added that the World Cup winner believes it is the right time to move to Old Trafford after having played in Munich for 13 seasons.

The Premier League giants have been quick and decisive in transfer market this summer. The Red Devils have already completed two signings - Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian, with other stars like Sergio Ramos and Morgan Schneiderlin being strongly linked to the club.

Schweinsteiger will be a vital addition to the United's central midfield, which currently consists of Michael Carrick, Daley Blind, Anders Herrera.

The German has been the focal point for his club and country over the years and he will add a new dimension to United's attack.
