New Delhi: Manchester United may have looked dull and rusty against Tottenham Hotspur, but the amongst the new faces right back Matteo Darmian and goalkeeper Sergio Romero put in a commendable performance that will give confidence to the manager and fans alike.

Matteo Darmian operated well in both halves and made some clever tackles and interceptions. His tactical approach was good to watch and looked lively going forward. According to statistics, Darmian had 85% pass accuracy, 5 clearances, 3 tackles won and one block to his name.

The former Torino man was praised by his teammates and the manager for his contribution in the game. In Darmian, United have found a solid right back as he looked composed in his debut game.

Another player who impressed on his debut was Sergio Romero. The Argentine No. 1 last played a club game in December 2014 but looked sharp as the game progressed. Romero was a bit nervous and shaky with his ball distribution initially, but made some crucial saves towards the end of the game and earn his a clean-sheet on his first game. Romero will hope to settle down quickly and fight for a place with David de Gea, if the Spaniard stays this season at the club.
