West Ham`s Mark Noble has red card rescinded

London: The red card shown to West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble during his side`s 3-0 win at Liverpool last Saturday has been rescinded, the Football Association announced on Wednesday.

Having earlier scored West Ham`s second goal, Noble was shown a straight red card in the 78th minute at Anfield after sliding in to toe the ball away from Danny Ings on the edge of the visitors` penalty area.

The FA upheld West Ham`s appeal against the 28-year-old`s sending-off, meaning he will be available to face Newcastle United on September 14, but charged the club over their players` reaction to his dismissal.

"Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, West Ham United`s claim of wrongful dismissal in relation to Mark Noble has been successful," the FA said in a statement on their website.

"The player was sent off for serious foul play during the game against Liverpool on 29 August 2015. His three-match suspension has, therefore, been withdrawn with immediate effect.

"In relation to the behaviour of the West Ham United players following Mr Noble`s dismissal, the club has been charged for failing to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion."

West Ham have until 1700 GMT on Monday to respond to the charge.

The FA also announced that Stoke City winger Ibrahim Afellay`s ban for slapping West Bromwich Albion`s Craig Gardner at the weekend has been cut from three games to two.
