Mourinho won't apologise to Wenger for “specialist in failure” remark

New Delhi: Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said that he doesn't need to apologise for calling Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger a “specialist in failure” last season. His comment may well serve as the perfect appetiser ahead of their league clash in Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Earlier, Mourinho congratulated Wenger on the Frenchman's 8 years as Arsenal manager. About his famous, specialist in failure remark on Wenger, the Portuguese said, “I don’t apologise, he didn’t apologise. My feeling is not to go over it – forget it, to move forwards without thinking about what happened. He doesn’t need to apologise, so I don’t need an apology or to apologise.”

Last season, Mourinho defended his remark by claiming it was in response to an earlier remark from Wenger. The Gunners boss was quoted as saying the league title was “Chelsea’s to lose” and that Blues manages “feared failure”.

On Friday, the former Real Madrid manager continued that “Intelligent football people don’t need that, it’s finished. Let’s go for another match with big responsibilities for both of us.”

Chelsea are already enjoying a six-point lead over Arsenal after six round, and the clash at Stamford Bridge will once again allow the old adversaries in Mourinho and Wenger to prove each other. Both the teams have not lost in the league so far, but Chelsea will start as favourites, thanks to their prolific goal-scoring form.
