New Delhi: West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce and striker Diafra Sakho won the Premier League manager and player of the month awards on Friday, for the side's impressive performance in October. Sam Allardyce's side beat Queens Park Rangers, Burnley and champions Manchester City as they recorded three wins out of three in the month.
Meanwhile, striker Diafra Sakho (summer signing from Metz) scored in all three victories and has six goals from six starts. The impressive results have seen West Ham lie in fifth place in the Premier League, level on points (17) with Arsenal. The award is a great boost for Allardyce who was under huge pressure earlier this year following a poor run of results.
