Georgetown: World football governing body FIFA has turned down a protest by the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) alleging that St. Vincent and the Grenadines used an ineligible player during a World Cup Qualification game.
The GFF was questioning the eligibility of Gavin and whether he was in possession of a St. Vincent and the Grenadines passport during the qualification games.
However, in a letter to the GFF, FIFA Disciplinary Committee ruled that "after careful examination of all the requested information and documentation, it was considered that no further intervention was necessary in such context".
The GFF said it was currently seeking legal advice on whether to appeal the ruling to the FIFA Appeals Committee.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines advanced on away goals after a 2-2 draw in Arnos Vale followed by a 4-4 tie here.
