Flamengo eyes Costa Rica winger Bolanos

Rio de Janeiro: Brazilian giants Flamengo are reportedly pursuing Costa Rica winger Christian Bolanos.

The 30-year-old is a free agent after ending his contract with FC Copenhagen last month, reports Xinhua. He was a key member of the Costa Rica team that reached the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals for the first time in the country`s history earlier this month. Jorge Luis Pinto`s team eventually fell in the last eight to the Netherlands in a penalty shootout. "There has been contact (with Flamengo), but nothing definitive," Bolanos` agent Simon Friis was quoted telling Lancenet. "His value has gone up after the World Cup and he will analyse the market." Flamengo are currently 19th in the Brazilian Serie A standings. The season resumes Wednesday after a six-week recess for the World Cup.
