MS Dhoni attended his first Indian Super League (ISL) match on Tuesday as his franchise Chennaiyin FC thrashed Mumbai City FC 5-1.

New Delhi: MS Dhoni attended his first Indian Super League (ISL) match on Tuesday as his franchise Chennaiyin FC thrashed Mumbai City FC 5-1.

Along with the Indian captain, in the stands were co-owners Abhishek Bachchan and Vita Dani. On his first visit to the stadium as a spectator, Dhoni could not have asked for a better performance from him team.

The 33-year-old was understandably delighted as he was seen frequently high-fiving Bachchan and Dani as their side scored four goals in the first half.

After the match, Dhoni participated in the Celebrity Charity Challenge, where he stood between the posts after dressing down into his goalkeeping attire.

Celebrity Charity Challenge is a penalty shootout. On every match day, celebrities turn shooters or goalkeepers. On scoring or saving a penalty, a fixed sum of money goes to charity.

Usually most celebrities prefer taking the shot rather than being in goal. But Dhoni being Dhoni, decided to do the exact opposite.

It is a well-known fact the MSD was a goalkeeper in his school days before his coach convinced him to opt for cricket as a career and turned him into a wicketkeeper.

Dhoni did a fabulous job as he saved all the penalties barring one. Also, before the challenge, he upped the ante by increasing the donation per penalty save from Rs 25,000 to 50,000.
