Lack of support from Brazil fans is upsetting: Neymar

Neymar has criticised the Brazilian fans for their lack of support during the Selecao`s narrow 1-0 win over South Africa on Friday.

Sao Paulo: Neymar has criticised the Brazilian fans for their lack of support during the Selecao`s narrow 1-0 win over South Africa on Friday.
Zenit St Petersburg star Hulk, who netted the only goal of the game, had already stated that the supporters` critical attitude weighed Brazil down, and Neymar has now voiced his dismay with the events during the friendly victory, too. "We all know that we did not put in a great performance, but we still managed to win the game. I was very disappointed that the fans were booing us," Neymar stated to reporters. "I do not ask the fans to like me, but I ask them to cheer for the national team." The Santos attacker feels that the fans` critical attitude inside the Estadio Cicero Pompeu de Toledo was partially down to the presence of large groups of supporters from rival teams. "I do not know the exact reason behind the fans` behaviour, but it might have something to do with the presence of Palmeiras, Corinthians and Sao Paulo supporters in the crowd. "But I repeat, they should be supporting the team rather than booing players from rival teams." Brazil`s next match is the international friendly versus China on Tuesday. Goal.com
