London: Leicester kept their promotion push on course as the Championship leaders came from two goals down to rescue a dramatic 2-2 draw against Watford on Saturday.
Nigel Pearson`s side were in danger of suffering a first league defeat since December 7 after falling behind to Fernando Forestieri`s ninth minute strike and a goal from Sean Murray in the 41st minute. But Matty James netted for the Foxes in the 43rd minute and Danny Drinkwater equalised with a spectacular shot in second half stoppage-time. Leicester are 11 points clear of second placed Burnley, who remain firmly in the hunt for automatic promotion to the Premier League after beating Millwall 3-1 at Turf Moor. The Clarets fell behind to Martyn Woolford`s 27th minute goal, yet they were ahead by half-time through strikes from Danny Ings and Dean Marney before Ings wrapped up the points with his second after the break. With third placed QPR facing fourth placed Derby on Monday, Nottingham Forest had a chance to improve their standing in the play-off places. But Billy Davies`s fifth placed team were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at Blackpool after Andy Keogh`s 86th minute equaliser cancelled out a Jamaal Lascelles strike. Reading, who hold the final play-off spot, suffered a setback as they lost 2-0 at home to in-form Sheffield Wednesday. Royals centre back Alex Pearce was sent off in only the ninth minute after conceding a penalty. Wednesday`s Chris Maguire slotted home the spot-kick and the visitors extended their unbeaten run to 11 matches when on-loan Arsenal striker Benik Afobe added a second goal from close range. Brian McDermott`s return to the dugout saw Leeds come from behind to earn a 2-1 victory over Yeovil at Huish Park. McDermott was sacked last week by a representative of Italian businessman Massimo Cellino. But having been reinstated on Monday as Cellino waits for Football League approval for his £25 million takeover, McDermott was serenaded throughout by his side`s supporters despite seeing their side trail at the interval to Ishmael Miller`s header. And McDermott`s presence eventually galvanised Leeds, who equalised through Ross McCormack in the 45th minute before Stephen Warnock bagged the winner after half-time. Yeovil`s defeat means Gary Johnson`s team remain bottom of the second tier and six points from safety. Second bottom Barnsley blew a two-goal lead in painful fashion as Ipswich scored twice in the last nine minutes to draw 2-2 at Oakwell. Charlton remain in the final relegation place following their 2-0 home defeat against Birmingham. Elsewhere, Brighton beat Doncaster 1-0 and Huddersfield defeated Wigan 1-0. Bolton drew 2-2 with Bournemouth and Middlesbrough shared a goalless draw with Blackburn.
