Mourinho to stay on at Real Madrid

London: Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho is set to delay his return to England by staying on at the Bernabeu this summer instead of staging a return to his former club Chelsea, as many reports had suggested.

Although the `Special One` has been linked with a host of top-flight clubs including what would be a dramatic return to Stamford Bridge, he has recently admitted that such speculation is harming both him and his club, adding that he is happy in Madrid. The report further said that Mourinho intended to sit down with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez at the end of the current campaign and probably negotiate a new contract at the club following Madrid`s reported worries over speculation linking Mourinho with a move away from the Bernabeu. According to the report, despite a disappointing league campaign after last season`s triumph in La Liga, Mourinho is still highly thought of inside the Bernabeu and adored by the fans. Meanwhile, Real Madrid has secured a place in the Champions League semi-final, avoiding a clash with arch-rivals Barcelona. ANI
