New Delhi: India goalkeeper Subrata Paul will
start his trial stint at the Vancouver Whitecaps FC in Canada
with a training session with the first team being scheduled
on Saturday.
Paul, who left India on Tuesday for Canada, was received
warmly by the Vancouver Whitecaps management and he met
technical director Tom Soehn and General Manager Greg Anderson
yesterday.
"Vancouver Whitecaps has been very supportive so far.
They have put him in a very nice hotel and he has a group of
people at the club always ready to answer his questions,"
Paul`s manager Arvind Narayan, who too is in Vancouver, said.
"Subrata will be training tomorrow with the first team
which got back from Toronto this evening. So far he has spent
his time watching countless videos of the Whitecaps on YouTube
and he is ready to go out tomorrow and show his best," said
Narayan in a Libero Sports Asia release.
Paul will attend a 10-day trial with Vancouver Whitecaps
FC which will make their Major League Soccer (MLS) debut from
next season (2011).
If India`s star goalkeeper impresses the Vancouver
Whitecaps FC management he can join mid-season. The club play
in the second division this season.
The Pune FC goalkepeer was scheduled to go for trials in
April but postponed his departure till the end of I-league
after he sustained injury against Mumbai FC.
