Mumbai: Mumbai based central defender Pratik Choudhari has signed to play for Kolkata`s glamour outfit Mohun Bagan in the new I-League season.
The 24-year-old player had turned out for Rangdajied United last season. His consistent show with the North East club caught the eyes of the Bagan coaching staff and he was offered a year-long contract with the Green and Maroon coloured outfit, a release said today. "It is like a dream come true to sign for the biggest club in India. I had couple of other offers up my sleeve but decided to listen to my heart and sign for Mariners for this season. It is any Indian footballer`s dream to play in Kolkata and mine was no different. So when the opportunity came my way, I decided to take it," said Choudhari. Choudhari is now waiting for his transfer papers, so that he can officially start playing for Bagan. The youngster has earlier played for Air India for two seasons in the I-League. His consistent performance saw him being part of the India U-23 camp last season. Choudhari is a client of Supersub Management and they felicitated the deal, the release added.
