Madrid: Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho could quit as the manager of the Los Blancos, according to reports from Spain.
Mourinho earlier had a fierce argument with Sergio Ramos and captain Iker Casillas after they failed to defend his negative tactics during their 2-1 Spanish Cup loss to Barcelona.
After the end of Sunday’s 4-1 win over Athletic Bilbao, a section of Madrid fans recited Mourinho’s name to indicate their unrelenting support for him despite the report.
However, a major section of the Bernabéu crowd countered it by whistling, sending a clear signal that they aren’t pleased with him, The Telegraph reports.
A leading journalist said Mourinho has made up his mind to leave Madrid at the end of the season and he also claimed that his source was one of Mourinho’s closest friends.
Mourinho’s training-ground bust up transpired after Madrid’s 2-1 defeat at home by Barcelona in the Spanish Cup “All the Spanish players have been world champions and your friends in the Press protect you. Like the keeper,” Mourinho said to defender Sergio Ramos.
Captain Iker Casillas who was standing some 30-yard away reacted to this jibe by Mourinho and shouted, “Hey, boss, here we say things face to face, OK?” When Ramos clarified a change in strategy for the corner, which led to Barca`s first goal, Mourinho reacted and said, “Are you trying to be the manager now?” “No, but at times we have to change the markings.
As you have never worn shorts, you don`t know these situations arise,” replied Ramos.
