London: Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs may walk away from his football career over the sex allegations, a family friend has said.
“We fear that Ryan will go now and just call it a day once and for all,” The Daily Mirror quoted the friend, as saying. “The feeling is another year is just one too many for him to be bothered with. A lot of supporters have lost a lot of faith in him, and Ryan doesn’t need the hassle of taking stick from away fans,” the source added. Giggs’ sister-in-law, Natasha, has claimed that they regularly slept together after first meeting at a Manchester club in 2003. He has denied the affair. Earlier in May, Giggs had obtained an anonymised gagging order in relation to an alleged extra-marital affair with model Imogen Thomas. The 37-year-old midfielder also took legal action against social networking website Twitter after he was named by a user in a list of identities of individuals who had allegedly taken out so-called “super-injunctions”.
