SAFF Cup 2015: Robin Singh's double gives India 2-0 win over hapless Sri Lanka

New Delhi: Sunil Chhetri-led India got off to a great start in their opening match of SAFF Championship 2015 with a comprehensive 2-0 win over Sri Lanka at Trivandrum International Stadium in Kerala.

Robin Singh was India's hero of the match as he scored two goals in the second half.

The Lankans, who won their first game with a goal in the dying moments against Nepal, displayed superb defensive skills in the first half, where their goalkeeper Sujan Perera deprived India of several scoring opportunities. It was because of Perera that Lanka conceded just two goals, as he pulled off some spectacular saves even in the second half.

Barring Perera's performance, there were no positives for Sri Lanka who hardly troubled the Indian defenders.

Stephen Constantine will be extremely happy with the way his boys fought in the second half, however, India need to learn from their mistakes for a better show in their second match of the championship.
