And the Asian giants tried a couple of kicks, with the last one missing the left post by a whisker. 85' - Nabil Ghilas got a return ball and beat two defenders but the Korean goalie was quick to collect the ball. 84' - Lee Keun-ho got an attempt from a tight angled. Found his kick sailing skywards. Algeria won a goal-kick. 82' - A brief stoppage as Islam Slimani required medical attention. 81' - From the corner, again taken by Son Heung-min, Korea won a throw-in close to the far corner. Realistically, both the teams are fighting for a second place finish in the group. Korea, who were lucky to share points with Russia in their opening encounter, will start as the favourites though. Because, they have never lost to an African side in the World Cup, winning against Togo in 2006 and drawing against Nigeria in 2010. But, Algeria are known for their defensive play, as evident from their opening encounter against group favourites Belgium. They had three shot on the target, and scored from one of those... albeit from the spot, by Sofiane Feghouli. These two teams have met only once, some 29 years ago in a friendly and the Asian side won 2-0. The match in Porto Alegre is expected to be a direct duel between two youngsters, Park Chu-young and Madjid Bougherra, in the midfield. But how both the managers utilise their players will be an interesting fact, considering the lack of match-winners or star players in either side. Other key players to watch out are Ki Sung-Yueng and Nabil Bentaleb. For Korea, their manager Hong Myung-bo is a legend. Having played in four consecutive World Cup finals, his presence inspires confidence. Vahid Halilhodzic, the Algerian manager, is an astute technician.
