Because, the Dutch in their current form, are expected to beat Chile too. And with three wins, they will top the group. Certainly, the proceeding at the sidelines and in the stands have taken prominence over the activities on the field. 90+1' - Few close chances for Spain, but today, nothing is working the champions. And they are going home early, little too early. 90' - Six Minutes ADDED. 89' - Chile SUB:Carlos Carmona on for Arturo Vidal. 86' - Vidal's lunge on a Spanish player was noticed by the referee and a free kick was awarded to the Europeans. From the set-play, Torres was released only to be fouled by a couple of Chile defenders. There, Spain won another free-kick, but Cazorla's shot at the goal resulted into a corner. From the corner, Ramos missed the chance to score. 84' - Bravo produced a good save to deny Iniesta a goal as the Spaniard's strike from outside the box was parried over the bar for a corner. From the corner, Pedro got a header from Iniesta delivery but Bravo collected the ball calmly. 82' - After a brief stoppage, Bravo re-started the match with a goal-kick. Few moments ago, Torres was complaining to the time-wasting techniques of the Chile goalie. 79' - Iniesta's poor touch summed up Spanish plight today. The legend was provided an opportunity to set up a goal for his team-mates but his touch was not to the mark. A rare miss. 77' - Good defending by Mena as a dangerous looking Spanish move inched ever closer to the Chile box. But the defender plated a timely sliding clearance to rob David Silva off the ball. 76' - Spain SUB: Santi Cazorla arrived to replace Pedro. 75' - Spain survived a dangerous moment as Vidal and Sanchez combined to create a chance for their team-mate. But an alert Ramos cleared the ball. 74' - Vidal caught off-side from a long run against two defenders. 73' - Suddenly, Sanchez is dictating the game here. And Chileans are enjoying a prolonged possession. 70' - With 20 minutes into the final whistle, Alexis Sanchez broke open the Spain defense with his pacey run. His final pass to Jara, inside the opponent box, could well have finished the game. 68' - Chile almost got the final nail in the coffin. But, Isla couldn't quite hit the target after picking a perfect pass in the Spain box. 66' - A desperate run from Torres as the Chelsea player chases the ball in the Chile half. 65' - With less than 30 minutes in to the final whistle, Spain got a throw in and from the play, tried to build up an attack but Koke's final delivery sailed over the sidelines. 64' - Spain SUB: Brought in Fernando Torres in place of Diego Costa. 62' - Chile lost possession after playing some fine one touches inside the Spain half. But Spain also have failed to take advantage of it as they soon allowed the South Americans to play their game again. 60' - Yellow Card for Mena as his late tackled on Pedro was spotted by the referee. 59' - Finally, Spain have displayed their skills. After almost three minutes, they lost the possession thanks to a high ball in front of the Chile box. 57' - Isla throw-in for Chile, and on the counter attack, Medel blocked Costa's run in the Chile half. 55' - Aranguiz recieved a medical attention and has been carried off the field in a stretcher. 54' - Another Koke-Silva link-up created some ruffles inside the Chile half. But, Spain opted to withdraw from the attack and instead switched flanks. 52' - Pleasant sight of del Bosque encouraging his wards as Costa produced a acrobatic shot which almost provided the goal. But Busquets attempt to connect Costa's cross missed by a whisker. 51' - Vidal got a last gasp defending tactics, by running on to Pedro. Gifted a free kick. 50' - Koke, coming on to man the midfield, involved himself in a beautiful link-up with Silva in the Chile half. But his final delivery missed the target, that of Silva. 49' - Diego Costa almost pull one back as his attempt, just few yards from the goal-line, was deflected thanks to a marking defender. Corner earned. But in the following play, Bravo did his bit to clear the ball for Chile. 47' - Alba won a throw-in for Spain. From the throw-in, Koke got the first touch of the World Cup, but have failed to make further inroads in the Chile half. 46' - Chile started the second half from the centre. And have lost the possession after few passes. As players rushed for the start of the second-half, Koke is ready to replace Alonso. If Chile maintain their lead, in another 45 minutes, Spain will become the first team to crash out of the 2014 World Cup. Spain's woeful form continues as Chile slotted home two goals in the first half. The first half also witnessed Chile playing a direct of brand football and have had more chances than the defending champions. Yes, as usual, possession credits go to Spain. HALF-TIME: Spain 0 - 2 Chile. 45+2' - Bravo produced a timely jump to collect a teasing delivery from the Spanish set-play, denying Ramos a clear header. 45' - Two Minutes Added. 43' - Second GOAL for Chile as Aranguiz slotted home. Chile won a free-kick in a dangerous area, from the set-play, Iker Casillas punched the ball but found Aranguiz waiting. Down 0-1 to Chile with 70-odd minutes to resurrect their chances. 20' - Vargas GOAL makes Chile lead the World Champions. The Valencia striker produced a cool finish to beat a trio of Spain defenders after he was allowed to wait in the box following a Sanchez and Aranguiz play. 18' - Spain won a throw-in in their own half, from the throw, they moved forward. But again, an alert Chilean defending unit cut short the attempt. 16' - A rebuilding period for the World Champions, as they wait for Chile players to attack. 14' - Some anxious moments for the Chilean defenders and Diego Costa got a free-run inside the box and from his cross, Alonso and Silva tried to put the inside the goal. But a off-side call from the linesman saved the Chileans. 12' - David Silva won a free-kick in a dangerous area as Vidal tackled the Man City player from behind. But from the set-piece, Alonso produced a poor kick which failed to hit the target. 11' - Azpilicueta did enough to create a move for the Spaniards, but a poor pass upfront meant their initiative cut short. 10' - Mena foiled a prospective looking Silva run in the Chilean box, and from the tackle, got the ball dispatched to a safe distance. 9' - Bravo got a high ball kicked. Safe clearance from the Chilean goalie. A win is a must for Spain to stay in contention for the next round. 7' - Iniesta won a free-kick in the Chile half as he was tripped by club team-mate Alexis. From the set-play, Ramos was released with a dangerous looking ball, but the delivery was way off the mark. 6' - David Silva's through pass, meant for Costa, didn't quite reach as a opponent defender blocked the pass. 5' - Ramos blocked a Alexis Sanchez run from the right side. Chile won a throw-in. 3' - Mena put a through ball for his team-mate, but Javi Martinez cut short the delivery and Spain started to move forward from it. 2' - From the goal-kick, Chile have had their bit defending to do as Silva tried to pierced through from the right flank. But Chile won a throw-in from the play. 1' - Spain, in all reds, started the proceedings against Chile, in all whites, from the centre. And within a minutes, the ball almost beat Iker. Spain are certainly wobbling. 39-year-old US referee, Mark Geiger will conduct the match. After that horrendous defeat to the Netherlands, the defending champions now need to win their both remaining matches. The looming question for the experienced manager is whether to play the embattled Iker Casillas or not. The Spain skipper was at the receiving end after allowing a couple of easy goals to their European rivals. A repeat of that poor performance will surely end his career and also Spain`s title defence. Besides, the goalie-woes, Spain has lot more problems up-front. Their defence was exposed against the pace of Dutch attack. Even the arrival of Diego Costa hasn`t helped their cause. A change in the starting line-up is expected.
