Would love to pair Messi with Ronaldo at Madrid, admits Ancelotti

New Delhi: Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti admitted that he would love to pair-up Lionel Messi with Cristiano Ronaldo at Santiago Bernanbeu.

The football world is witnessing a hysteria surrounding Messi's future. It's speculated that the Barcelona front-man is looking for a new environment following a row with manger Luis Enrique.

Ancelotti chose not the waste the opportunity and shared his desire the sign the Argentine during a press conference on Wednesday.

It will be a dream come true for any manager to have the two greatest players at his disposal at the same time. The duo has a combined eight Ballon dÓr awards between them.

“I think Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will one day play in the same team. I do,” the Italian said.

However, he also reminded that the two superstars are the emblems of their respective clubs – two clubs with probably the biggest sporting rivalry.

“We need to bear in mind that Cristiano is Real’s flagship player, as Messi is Barcelona’s. With this in mind, it is quite difficult to see them together in the same team as both of them have history in their clubs. But it would be great for any team to have them both.” the manager emphasised.

Coughing up Messi's £200 million buyout clause and then meeting astronomical wages without breaching UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules is almost impossible for the suitors. But Real Madrid, besides English giants Manchester United, is believed to be the only club which can actually do this miracle of transfer.

If such a transfer happens, Messi will join the likes of Luis Figo, Michael Laudrup and current Barca coach Enrique to play for both the giants.
