Atwal, Chopra for Torrey Pines

San Diego: Arjun Atwal, who has missed the cut in his first two starts this season, starts the third one at the Farmers Insurance at Torrey Pines with hopes of bettering the result of last two years, when he missed the cut at this event.

Also in the field is Daniel Chopra, who failed to get a spot into the Humana Challenge last week. Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson who has 39 PGA TOUR victories to be all-time ninth on the list with Tom Watson and Cary Middlecoff will be hoping for a fourth win in San Diego. Nearly a third of his wins, 12 to be exact, have come during the five stroke-play events during the West Coast swing, four of which are played in his native California and the other in Arizona, where Mickelson went to college and lived for several years.
