Atwal makes the cut at Travelers Championship

Arjun Atwal squeezed into the weekend rounds despite a modest one-under 69 on the second day of the Traveler`s Championships Golf.

Cromwell (US): Indian golfer Arjun Atwal squeezed into the weekend rounds despite a modest one-under 69 on the second day of the Traveler`s Championships Golf here on Saturday.
Atwal, who shot a first round of 68 is now three-under 137 for two rounds and he was on the cut line, which came at three-under for two rounds. Atwal made up for the early lapses of bogeys on first and sixth with a birdie on ninth and in the second stretch he birdied the 13th, 14th and 16th to finish at 68 and lie at tied 67th.The spotlight of the week was, however, on the 19-year-old amateur Patrick Cantalay, who after finishing as the low amateur in US Open shot a course record 10-under 60 to reach 13-under 127 for 36 holes. He was leading by four shots over Webb Simpson (66-65), Vaughn Taylor (65-66), DJ Trahan (69-62) and Alexandre Rocha (65-66). PTI
