Casey to make late decision on Hazeltine National

Chaska: Britain`s Paul Casey, who has been battling a strained rib muscle, will give himself more time to prove his fitness for Thursday`s opening round of the US PGA Championship, his manager said.
The world number three, who initially said he would decide on Tuesday whether he would compete at Hazeltine National, would review his condition the day before his 0745 (1245 GMT) tee-off time, his manager Guy Kinnings told reporters on Wednesday. Casey first suffered the injury in practice before last month`s British Open and has been receiving daily treatment since he withdrew from last week`s WGC-Bridgestone Invitational after six holes."It is a frustrating injury to receive as the only real cure is rest," the 10-times European Tour winner said on his official website. Casey has been one of the hottest players in the game this year, winning his first PGA Tour title at the Houston Open in April along with two titles on the European Tour. Bureau Report
