Dhaka: Manav Das continued to stay in the front with a third successive sub-par round of 71 that gave him a five-shot lead with one more round to go in the Bangladesh Open Amateur championships golf on Friday.
The Indian amateur, who had rounds of 69 and 68 on first two days is now eight-under 208 for 54 rounds at the Kurmitola Golf Club.
His teammate Khalin Joshi, winner here at 2011 Championships, moved up to sixth place with a round 72 after 74-74 on first two days.
Also taking the lead after the first round of ladies event was India`s Millie Saroha who shot a round of 76, the same as her teammate Anisha Padukone and the two shared the lead. Bangladesh`s Zakia Sultana was third with 80.
Manav had an eagle on par-5 third and a birdie on fourth. He had a bogey on 10th, but made up with a birdie on 11th. He had two more bogeys on 15th and 18th for a 71.
But the big move in men`s section on day two was made by Bangladesh?s Sajib Ali, who shot six-under 66 and following rounds of 75 and 72 on first two days he is now three-under 213 in second place. Sajib shares the second place with compatriot Md Nazim (73-71-69).
Abdus Sobarhan shot 72 and after 70-73 on first two days he is one-under and fourth. Another local golfer, Dulal Hossain (75-73-71) is fifth and Joshi sixth.
