Wellington: Teenage sensation Danny Lee has been selected in the New Zealand team for this year`s World Cup of golf in China.
The 19-year-old Lee will team up David Smail for the Nov. 26-29 tournament in only his first year as a professional. "It is always a great honour to play for your country and I am looking forward to doing this for the first time as a professional," Lee said in a statement on Friday."This has been an exciting year and the World Cup will be another great experience." Lee became the youngest ever man to win the US Amateur title when he claimed the title aged 18 in 2008, earning comparisons with Tiger Woods. Earlier this year, he became the youngest winner on the European Tour when he won the Johnnie Walker Classic in February before turning pro in April. Bureau Report
