The former lost his opening bout and his opponent failed to make it to the final of the 74kg event ending his chances of any medal. Amit, on the other hand, won his opening bout (55kg) but lost the quarterfinal match. He, however, was still in contention for a bronze medal as his quarterfinal opponent Vladimer Khinchegashvili made it to the final.
