London Olympics 2012 Wrestling: India's Amit Kumar in quarterfinals

London: Indian wrestler Amit Kumar has caused an upset at the London Olympics 2012 by defeating favourite Hassan Sabzali Rahimi of Iran 2-1. He has advanced to the quarterfinals.

The quarterfinal starts at 7:00pm (IST).

Period 3: Both the wrestlers have won one point each but the Indian has won the last point and if the stalemate continues he will clinch the bout. And the bout has been won by Amit Kumar. He has progressed to the quarterfinal.

Period 2: No points won by any wrestler. So the round goes into the clinch position. Narsingh has won the toss and has won the point as well. The bout is now tied 1-1 as both the wrestlers have won one period each.

Period 1: First points for the Iranian wrestler Hassan Sabzali Rahimi. He got a point in the last seconds of the first period. He leads the bout 1-0.

19-year-old Amit Kumar will see the London Olympics as an opportunity to prove his mettle. He is the youngest wrestler in the Indian delegation. He is also the youngest wrestler ever to represent India at the Summer Olympics.
