The Arjuna Award winner, Tarundeep Rai became the first Indian to win an individual men’s silver medal in archery at the Asian Games on 24 November 2010 in Guangzhou, China. Rai was a part of the three-member Indian team which was recently ranked No.1 in the world along with Rahul Banerjee and Jayanta Talukdar. He was also a star performer of the Indian team, which won the World Archery Championship in Madrid in the year 2005 for which he was awarded the Arjuna Award. At the 2012 London Games, it is for the first time that the country is having huge hopes from the in-form archery team. With loads of experience, Rai will have to play a major role to enhance India’s medal tally.
