Full Name: Jwala Gutta Born: 7 September, 1983 (28 years) Height: 5' 10" Sports: Badminton Jwala Gutta: Apart from Saina Nehwal, Jwala Gutta is another ace shuttler who believes in delivering her 100%. She is considered to be one of the better doubles players the country has seen over the years. She is also the first Indian to qualify for two badminton events at the Olympics. The 28-year-old will be playing the women`s doubles with Ashwini Ponnappa and mixed doubles with V. Diju in the mega sporting event starting from July 27. She has been undergoing intensive training both under the veteran coach Syed Mohammed Arif and Indonesia`s Edwin Iriawan to make sure that she doesn’t miss on a medal this time. While the Hyderabadi has reckoned that Saina Nehwal, Gagan Narang and Mary Kom are among the other sportspersons who can win medals in the Olympics, the country would have huge hopes from her as well.
