London Olympic 2012 rowing: Britain retain men`s four crown

London: Britain here Saturday retained their Olympic title in the men`s four rowing, beating Australia and the United States to gold at the London Olympics.

The British crew of Alex Gregory, Peter Reed, Tom James and Andrew Triggs-Hodge won in a time of six minutes 3.97 seconds, with Reed, James and Triggs-Hodge all winning gold for the second Olympics in succession. Britain took the lead early on and clung on for the rest of the race despite a strong challenge from Australia, who finished 1.22 seconds behind, while bronze went to the United States. IANS
