Daniel Ricciardo `banging head against a wall`

Daniel Ricciardo `banging head against a wall`

One year after celebrating his maiden victory in Montreal Daniel Ricciardo admitted Sunday that he feels he is "banging his head against a wall" after finishing 13th in the Canadian Grand Prix.

The 25-year-old Australian started ninth on the grid behind his Red Bull team-mate Daniil Kvyat, but was unable to hold that position and finished behind Spanish rookie Carlos Sainz of Toro Rosso.

"We tried and nothing worked," he said. "We didn`t have pace. At the moment all I can do is laugh. Race cars are complicated. Some days you don`t understand them.

"Unfortunately, we haven`t really got on top of it this weekend, but we didn`t expect to be that slow in the race.

"I knew I wasn`t fighting for points, but I was still fighting and trying to get as much out of it as I could. It was just one of those races where you go round and round."
